Remote Learning in ETSD
Student online learning opportunities were initiated on Monday, March 16th and continued daily through the end of the school year. These included live Google Meet sessions, screencasts and/or video lessons in both the content areas and related arts via Google Classroom. Elementary students experienced a literacy, math, and science/social studies lesson, along with a Relax & Read period daily. In addition, one related arts lesson was taught daily on a six day cycle (art, music, technology, library-media, PE, and Spanish). At middle school, students had daily literacy, math, science and social studies lessons, along with their designated related arts quint lesson(s).
A special thank you to our staff and families for their continued hard work and efforts from home throughout this process as we worked together to bring the students of ETSD a high quality education. While the complexities of remote learning were certainly great, and the challenges numerous, everyone persevered, maintained flexibility, and in the end accomplished great things! We appreciate everyone's team approach! As the school year comes to a close, we encourage everyone to take some time for a well-deserved break. Summer is a time for rest and relaxation, but also remember it is essential to maintain literacy and math skills, especially this year, so be sure to complete the district's summer literacy and math project. Summer programs begin virtually on Monday, July 6th and primarily run throughout the month of July. The schools will continue to communicate with families as we receive information from the state about our return in September. Please continue to communicate with your school principal, counselor, and/or case manager about any needs to ensure supports are in place when we are back in session.
Congratulations to all of our student graduates, whether it is our preschoolers moving on to kindergarten, our fifth graders moving up to middle school or our eighth graders transitioning to high school, we'd like to acknowledge these milestones and celebrate your success! A special thank you to our eighth graders, as you start this new phase we hope you look back on your years here in ETSD with fondness and know that we are so very proud of you!
